Manama:General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Interior Minister, welcomed the heads of delegations attending the 12th GCC Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Interior Minister emphasized Bahrain's commitment, under the guidance of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with support from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to enhancing integrity and transparency, combating corruption, upholding the law, and safeguarding public funds.
He praised the cooperation among GCC nations in fighting corruption and noted the significant progress made through collaborative efforts. General Shaikh Rashid stressed the importance of sharing expertise and experiences to strengthen joint GCC actions in this area.
The Interior Minister asserted that combating corruption is a collective responsibility necessitating coordinated efforts and partnerships. Specialized GCC meetings are crucial for sharing knowledge and improving cooperation mechanisms to promote integrity and combat corruption effectively.
During the meeting, General Shaikh Rashid wished success for the 12th GCC Ministerial Committee meeting and expressed hope for outcomes that would boost cooperation among GCC countries in protecting integrity.
He also recognized the winners of the second Research and Studies Competition, part of the 2026 GCC Award for Excellence in Protecting Integrity and Combating Corruption, which received 246 entries. The importance of research and modern technologies in supporting anti-corruption efforts was highlighted.
At the meeting's conclusion, the delegation heads thanked the Interior Minister and praised Bahrain's role in fostering GCC collaboration to combat corruption.
