Abu dhabi: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, participated today in the Sixth International Security Alliance Ministerial Meeting, held in the United Arab Emirates. During the meeting, Gen. Shaikh Rashid delivered a speech expressing appreciation to Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the UAE, for his involvement in the alliance's first field exercise in Bahrain. He highlighted the exercise's realism and effectiveness in addressing security challenges.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Gen. Shaikh Rashid emphasized the alliance's success in combating organized and transnational crime, attributing it to the support of Lt. Gen. HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed. He noted the joint specialized operations reflect the member states' advanced security awareness and readiness. The Minister also highlighted recent successes in intercepting narcotics smuggling attempts, underscoring the importance of continued coordination and cooperation among participating agencies.
Gen. Shaikh Rashid reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to promoting security and stability and strengthening cooperation principles among countries. He praised the UAE's role in leading the alliance and its initiatives to enhance joint security efforts. The meeting concluded with ministers emphasizing the need for a comprehensive model for police cooperation to achieve international security.
The ministers welcomed Brazil's accession to the alliance, reflecting its strategic openness and responsiveness to global developments. Gen. Shaikh Rashid also held discussions with officials from Singapore, Senegal, and Spain, focusing on enhancing security cooperation and sharing expertise to combat future threats.
