Manama: Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Industry and Commerce Minister, honored commercial establishments participating in the fifth edition of the "Consumer's Friend" initiative in recognition of their contribution to supporting consumers and strengthening the ministry's partnership with the private sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ceremony highlighted the ministry's collaboration with the private sector, which is deemed a crucial element for market stability and expanding consumer choices. The initiative is praised as a successful example of public-private cooperation that benefits both consumers and the national economy.
This year's edition of the initiative, launched under the theme "More Choices, Better Value," marked its first expansion to include food and consumer goods, school supplies and stationery, and electrical and electronic appliances. This expansion aims to provide consumers with a broader range of discounted products.
Minister Fakhro emphasized that the expansion demonstrates the ministry's dedication to addressing consumer needs, fostering fair competition among retailers, and maintaining market stability. He also acknowledged the strong participation of commercial establishments, which signifies the sector's commitment to social responsibility and national initiatives that boost consumer confidence in the local market.
