Manama: The Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) convened for their 49th Joint Economic Committee meeting. The session was led by Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, alongside Sameer bin Abdullah Nass, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BCCI.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Fakhro emphasized the Joint Economic Committee's critical function in fostering coordination and cooperation between the public and private sectors. This collaboration aims to bolster the commercial sector and achieve the development objectives of Bahrain. The minister also expressed gratitude towards the commercial and private sectors for their significant contributions and ongoing support, which have considerably impacted the success of events and initiatives during the holiday season.
Minister Fakhro pointed out that the Ministry is committed to overseeing and assessing commercial and service initiatives. This includes upcoming initiatives set to launch during the holy month of Ramadan to support consumers and traders. He commended the Ministry's Inspection Directorate for its rigorous inspection campaigns across markets and commercial outlets, ensuring adherence to commercial standards and enhancing consumer protection.
The minister reiterated that the collaboration between the private sector and the government exemplifies a successful partnership that benefits the national interest and strengthens Bahrain's economic competitiveness. He extended his best wishes for continued success and progress in future endeavors.
Nass expressed appreciation for the Ministry's cooperation, noting its positive impact on serving the national economy and supporting development initiatives.
