iGA and Microsoft Collaborate to Enhance Bahrain’s Digital Transformation Through Specialized Training

Manama: In line with the Kingdom of Bahrain's efforts to accelerate digital transformation and adopt advanced AI and data-driven solutions, the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), in collaboration with Microsoft, organised a series of specialised training sessions on the Fabric data management platform. The platform unifies diverse data tools and services in a single, user-friendly environment to help organisations collect, manage, and analyse data for informed decision-making.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Fabric platform also features advanced AI-powered analytics tools and interactive dashboards that help teams access information faster and with greater accuracy. Participants were introduced to WorkshopPLUS, an interactive programme that provided hands-on experience in boosting technical efficiency and practical skills through expert-led workshops. The programme introduces best practices in using advanced technologies and applying them in real-world scenarios, helping organisations strengthen their readiness for digital transformation.

Hesham Ebrahim AlHashemi, iGA Government Systems Support and Maintenance Director, emphasized that the training sessions demonstrate the iGA's commitment to boosting government staff efficiency and providing advanced technical skills and digital tools to accelerate public sector digital transformation. He highlighted the strategic partnership between the iGA and leading ICT organisations such as Microsoft, noting that it reflects Bahrain's commitment to staying at the forefront of AI, data analytics, and related technologies. This collaboration enhances the Kingdom's technological readiness, supports informed decision-making, improves government services, and aligns with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

AlHashemi added that the training sessions reaffirm Bahrain's commitment to digital excellence and strengthen its position as a regional leader in public sector innovation and transformation. The training sessions brought together IT and data analytics specialists from a range of government entities, including data technology Directors, AI engineers, and technical solutions experts. The sessions showcased the powerful capabilities of the Fabric platform and its role in fostering innovation, improving operational efficiency, and advancing data-driven decision-making across the public sector.

The sessions explored key topics in data modelling, management, and analysis, along with how Fabric integrates seamlessly with other services such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Power BI. Together, these platforms offer powerful tools for storing, integrating, and visualizing large datasets, enabling government professionals to unlock the full potential and value of their databases.

The training program included hands-on sessions in a dedicated experimental environment, equipping participants with the skills to develop advanced data analysis solutions that enhance government performance and deliver innovative, smart services to citizens. The Fabric platform is a leading integrated data analytics solution that unifies data from multiple sources, enhances AI-driven insights, and supports more efficient government operations while empowering employees to work effectively.
