Manama: The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, presided over the weekly Cabinet Meeting held today at Gudaibiya Palace. During the meeting, a range of significant topics were discussed, including international relations and legislative developments.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s speech at the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace, which was convened at the invitation of Donald Trump, the President of the United States of America. The King’s address reaffirmed Bahrain’s steadfast commitment to peace and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. It emphasized the importance of dialogue, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence in strengthening relationships between countries, religions, and peoples.
The Cabinet also acknowledged the successful outcomes of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s recent visit to the State of Qatar. During this visit, he met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Amir of Qatar. The Cabinet expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to Prince Salman and his accompanying delegation during visits to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Furthermore, the Cabinet extended congratulations to the State of Kuwait, its Amir, government, and citizens on the occasion of Kuwait’s National Day and Liberation Day. The Cabinet highlighted Kuwait’s achievements across various sectors and reiterated support for Kuwait’s full sovereignty over its maritime areas and elevations, rejecting any opposing claims. It also urged the Republic of Iraq to respect historical relations and adhere to international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982.
In legislative matters, the Cabinet reviewed and approved several proposals, including draft laws amending provisions of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Law and the law on consumer protection. The Cabinet also addressed the government’s responses to various proposals.
The meeting concluded with the review of ministerial reports on international engagements, including participation in the 62nd Munich Security Conference and the 6th session of the Morocco-Bahrain Joint High Committee. Updates on the implementation of previous Cabinet decisions were also presented.
