Gudaibiya palace: The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today presided over the weekly Cabinet meeting held at Gudaibiya Palace. According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting began with the Cabinet noting the recent discussions between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and leaders of the Hellenic Republic, including President Constantine An. Tassoulas and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during the King's visit to Greece. The dialogues were recognized as a commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation across multiple sectors, aligning with the shared aspirations of both nations.
The Cabinet also marked the International Day of Peace by reaffirming the Kingdom's dedication to promoting peace initiatives, inspired by His Majesty the King's vision. They emphasized the crucial role peace plays in achieving global stability and security, especially amid ongoing international developments.
In a celebratory note, the Cabinet lauded Bahrain International Airport for securing three awards at the 2026 Skytrax World Airport Awards, a testament to the Kingdom's progressing aviation sector. Furthermore, the Cabinet extended congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its National Day, acknowledging the nation's significant achievements under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Condemnation was expressed towards the Iranian-backed Houthi militia's escalating terrorist activities against Saudi Arabia, particularly their attempts to target civilians, which were denounced as violations of international laws and UN resolutions.
The Cabinet proceeded to review and approve several important memorandums and draft laws. These included a draft law ratifying the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, and a political declaration from the UN High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response. They also endorsed multiple Memoranda of Understanding with Saudi Arabia covering revenue, education, and sustainability initiatives.
Further discussions included the expropriation of properties for urban development and responses to proposals from the Council of Representatives. The Cabinet reviewed a performance summary from the Ministerial Committee for Community Services, focusing on its activities from August 2025 to August 2026.
Lastly, various ministerial reports were reviewed, covering Bahrain's participation in international events such as the Arabian Travel Market 2026, the Arab Media Summit 2026, and the Brain Bar 2026 Festival. These reports highlighted Bahrain's active engagement in regional and international forums, reinforcing the Kingdom's commitment to fostering cooperative relations and promoting its interests on the global stage.
