Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting commenced with a review of measures and initiatives by relevant authorities following directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa aimed at ensuring the successful organisation of Ashura.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet reaffirmed that the longstanding values of openness, tolerance, and unity in Bahraini society have positioned the Kingdom as a beacon of security, stability, peace, and development. The Cabinet emphasized that religious occasions should reflect these values and serve as an opportunity to enhance national unity and community cohesion.
The Cabinet commended the outcomes of the annual meeting held by the Minister of Interior with members of the General Authority of Husseini Processions and heads of ma’atams across various governorates. It praised the collective commitment to uphold these values and ensure Ashura’s success through high levels of coordination and cooperation.
In line with the directives of His Majesty the King, the Cabinet instructed all relevant ministries and authorities to collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare for the 46th session of the Supreme Council of the GCC, scheduled in Bahrain this December. The session is anticipated to further strengthen Gulf cooperation and accelerate initiatives benefitting GCC citizens.
The Cabinet acknowledged the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant authorities in implementing directives to facilitate the safe return of Bahraini citizens stranded abroad due to last week’s regional escalation. It extended gratitude to the diplomatic missions of GCC countries and allied nations for their cooperation in the successful repatriation efforts.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved amending its regular meeting schedule to a bi-weekly format during July and August 2025. It also reviewed and approved various memorandums, including developments in the Government Priorities Framework 4.0, transfer of Bahrain’s share in the Bahrain Agriculture Development Company to Mumtalakat, and imposing anti-dumping duties on certain imports from GCC countries.
Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed a maintenance plan for roads and bridges during the summer of 2025, and ministerial reports on the Kingdom’s participation in various international events, including the Global Summit: Health and Prosperity through Immunization, the WOW Asia Awards Ceremony where Bahrain was recognized as a leading destination for events, and the Saudi Industry Forum 2025. Reports on external participations and visits by foreign ministers to Bahrain in July 2025 were also discussed.
