HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Chairs Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet commended the address delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during last week's meeting. The address outlined royal directives and national priorities that serve as a framework to strengthen the Kingdom's security and stability and to build on its achievements. The Cabinet affirmed that all government entities would implement these royal directives.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet condemned recent hostile actions by Iran against Bahrain and Kuwait. It urged Iran to cease hostilities, fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, respect maritime navigation under international law, and comply with Security Council resolutions. The Cabinet expressed its support for efforts to prevent escalation, protect civilians and critical facilities, and uphold regional and international peace and security.

The Cabinet commended the preparedness of the Bahrain Defence Force, the National Guard, the Ministry of Interior, and other authorities in addressing developments. It welcomed the outcome of the annual meeting between the Minister of Interior and officials of matams, highlighting the importance of public safety during the Ashura season and the community's adherence to laws and regulations.

Congratulating students for the 2025-2026 academic year, the Cabinet also recognized the role of parents and commended the Ministry of Education staff for their dedication. It welcomed the announcement by Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) regarding its acquisition of Aluminium Dunkerque and praised Mumtalakat Holding Company for enhancing its investments.

The Cabinet approved several memoranda, including Bahrain's participation in international organizations, a draft agreement on customs cooperation with the UK, an amendment to the Municipalities Law, a third Voluntary National Review on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, and responses to proposals from the Council of Representatives.

The Cabinet reviewed the draft agenda for the 167th session of the Ministerial Council of the GCC and progress on the Ministry of Youth Affairs' priority projects under the Government Programme (2023-2026).

Finally, the Cabinet reviewed reports on Bahrain's participation in international summits and forums, including the Choose France summit, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, and the Island States Ocean Summit, among others. It also reviewed the outcomes of the second semester of the 2025-2026 academic year and various external engagements by ministers.
