HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Advocates for GCC Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, met with His Excellency Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and heads of GCC delegations participating in the 38th Meeting of the GCC Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting underscored Bahrain's ongoing commitment to fostering greater GCC cooperation across sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening integrated partnerships among GCC states to advance development in line with the visions of the GCC leaders. The heads of delegations conveyed greetings from their respective leaders to His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who reciprocated with greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Royal Highness expressed support for the meetings, highlighting their role in enhancing GCC cooperation in agriculture and food security, aligned with shared goals. He stressed the significance of improving food security by enhancing supply chain efficiency to ensure a sustainable flow of goods. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister called for Gulf integration and international partnerships to bolster these efforts and prepare for emerging challenges.

The role of the GCC Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security was commended for its contributions to cooperation and coordination among GCC countries in the agricultural and food sectors. The Secretary General and GCC delegation heads expressed gratitude for HRH's commitment to advancing joint Gulf cooperation and extended their best wishes for Bahrain's continued progress.

The meeting was attended by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court; HE Eng Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture; HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, among other senior officials. The Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the meeting as part of its presidency of the 46th Session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) "Bahrain Summit".
