HM King Thanked by Information Minister on Press and Digital Media Law Ratification

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a cable of thanks from Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, on the occasion of His Majesty's ratification of the Press and Digital Media Law. Dr. Al Noaimi expressed his gratitude for the King's support towards freedom of opinion and expression, as outlined by the National Action Charter and the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Noaimi highlighted that the new law strengthens the national role of media and journalism as crucial partners in societal development. This progress is part of His Majesty's broader vision of utilizing responsible expression to foster sustainable development, protect national achievements, and propel the Kingdom's advancement across various sectors.

The Information Minister further acknowledged that the ratification and issuance of the law, post the approval by both the Shura and Representatives Councils, signifies the constructive collaboration and ongoing coordination between the executive and legislative branches under the leadership of His Majesty. He also credited His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his influential role in facilitating consensus between the two Authorities, which was essential for achieving this legislative milestone.

Dr. Al Noaimi concluded by noting that the law, embodying His Majesty the King's vision, represents a significant advancement in media legislation. It aims to protect the rights of journalists and media professionals while equipping the national media to promote awareness, knowledge, and the cultural values that distinguish Bahrain under His Majesty's leadership.
