Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (5) of 2026, focusing on restructuring the Ministry of Sustainable Development. This decision is based on the proposal of the Minister of Sustainable Development and follows approval from the Cabinet.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the restructuring outlines a new organizational framework for the ministry. The decree specifies that the Ministry will now be headed by the Minister of Sustainable Development and will include an Assistant Undersecretary for Sustainable Development. The Assistant Undersecretary will oversee two main directorates: the Evaluation and Coordination Directorate and the Communication and International Relations Directorate.
The decree also repeals Decree (9) of 2023, which previously governed the organization of the Ministry of Sustainable Development. Additionally, the decree mandates that the Minister of Sustainable Development is responsible for implementing its provisions. The changes are effective immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette.
