HM King Receives Guinness World Records Certificate for Bahrain’s Religious Tolerance

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla presented His Majesty with a Guinness World Records certificate recognizing Bahrain for having the highest density of places of worship for different religions.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the recognition underscores Bahrain's longstanding reputation for religious tolerance and coexistence. His Majesty the King was briefed on the centre's current and future plans, including the inaugural King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance. Emphasizing the Kingdom's commitment, His Majesty directed that the Coexistence Path in Manama be highlighted as a symbol of religious and cultural diversity.

His Majesty commended the international recognition, highlighting it as a reflection of Bahrain's civilisational character, pluralism, and embrace of diverse religions and sects. The King reaffirmed Bahrain's dedication to guaranteeing freedom of worship and protection for all faiths, while also promoting a culture of coexistence and understanding between cultures and civilisations.

Additionally, His Majesty acknowledged the centre's significant contributions and initiatives, noting its international reputation. The King extended his best wishes for the centre's continued success in achieving its humanitarian goals.

The Transportation Minister expressed gratitude to His Majesty for his support, stating that this achievement reflects Bahrain's reality of religious tolerance and coexistence, showcasing the country as a unique model of respect for religious freedoms under His Majesty's leadership.
