Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received the credentials of nine newly appointed ambassadors to the Kingdom of Bahrain during a ceremony held today.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ambassadors who presented their credentials included Gerard Cunningham, Ambassador of Ireland; Christophe Farnaud, Ambassador of the European Union; Saimir Bala, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania; Kjersti Tromsdal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway; Carolin Konther Lopez, Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay; Assane Tamboura, Ambassador of Burkina Faso; Ulrich Frank, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria; Madiyar Menilbekkov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and Siddiq Faizal Riyad Koya, Ambassador of the Republic of Fiji.
His Majesty welcomed the ambassadors to the Kingdom of Bahrain and expressed pride in the relations between Bahrain and their respective countries. He wished them a successful and productive diplomatic tenure and affirmed Bahrain's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. His Majesty also conveyed greetings to the leaders of the ambassadors' respective countries.
He expressed hope that the ambassadors' visits would continue beyond the presentation of credentials, noting that their presence signified normalcy in the Kingdom. His Majesty highlighted that Bahrain has maintained its activities over the past five months, continuing government work, trade, and tourism despite challenges.
His Majesty expressed hope for stability and emphasized Bahrain's efforts to maintain control of the situation. He also highlighted the ongoing Gulf Cooperation Council military exercise in Bahrain, showcasing the unity and coordination among GCC states' forces, which contributes to strengthening morale.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including His Highness the Personal Representative of HM the King and other royal and government officials. The newly appointed ambassadors were received by the Chief of Royal Protocols, and the ceremony concluded with the playing of the National Anthem.
