Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), emphasized the significance of World Humanitarian Day as an opportunity to reaffirm a commitment to humanitarian values. He stated that this day is a chance to promote a culture of giving and mutual support as a shared social responsibility, which builds and stabilizes communities while reinforcing solidarity and compassion among peoples.
According to Bahrain News Agency, on World Humanitarian Day observed on 19 August, His Highness noted that the occasion aligns with the RHF's 25th anniversary of humanitarian work, celebrated under the slogan 'A Humanitarian Legacy'. He acknowledged that these efforts extend from the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of the RHF, who firmly believes in human-centered development. His Highness further highlighted the support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which has enhanced the Foundation's influence both within Bahrain and internationally.
His Highness stressed that over 25 years, the RHF has developed a comprehensive humanitarian model that integrates care, empowerment, and humanitarian response. The Foundation has also implemented various relief and development projects outside Bahrain, reflecting the country's commitment to humanitarian missions and core values of assisting those in need.
His Highness concluded by stating that a humanitarian legacy is defined not just by achievements, but by the values and behaviors ingrained in society. He emphasized that sustaining humanitarian work is a shared responsibility, starting with the individual. Every initiative, effort, and moment dedicated to serving others can significantly impact individuals and communities. He stated that the future requires strengthening community participation in humanitarian endeavors and fostering a culture of giving, making it a daily practice that exemplifies the solidarity of Bahraini society.
