Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), has directed the General Sports Authority (GSA) to remove metal barriers separating spectators from the stands in stadiums and sports venues.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS and Chairman of the GSA, instructed relevant authorities to begin immediate implementation of the directive across sports facilities. This move is part of efforts to enhance the fan experience and develop the sporting environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The directive follows the strong public engagement witnessed during the final of His Majesty the King's Football Cup for the 2025/2026 season. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad commended the initiative, emphasizing the role of Bahraini supporters in enriching local competitions and contributing to the success of sporting events.
The GSA has confirmed the immediate implementation of the directive to ensure stadium readiness in line with development plans. This measure aims to improve spectator comfort, encourage attendance, and foster closer interaction between players and fans, supporting the continued advancement of Bahrain's sports sector.
