Manama: His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Special Representative of His Majesty the King, commended the royal order designating 2026 the “Year of Isa Al Kabeer” in honour of Bahrain’s founder of the modern state and key figure in its institutional development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak stated that the initiative commemorates the legacy of the leader and recalls his national role, including the consolidation of stability and the establishment of legal and civil institutions during his era.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak highlighted the royal initiative as a reflection of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s commitment to documenting Bahrain’s history, strengthening national identity, and recalling the role of His Highness Isa Al Kabeer in building the institutions of the modern state.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak noted that HH Isa Al Kabeer’s leadership embodied human values and a record of dedication and achievement throughout his rule from 1869 to 1932, which contributed to Bahrain’s renaissance and reinforced its regional and international standing.
