Brussels: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with the Ambassadors representing the GCC states accredited to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union (EU). Albudaiwi briefed the Ambassadors on the latest regional developments, particularly regarding the current crisis and the GCC states' efforts in coordination and cooperation across all fields.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Secretary General discussed overcoming the risks faced by the Council states in light of the Iranian aggressions that targeted their territories, emphasizing that the GCC has established a valuable model of coordination that has significantly contributed to mitigating these risks and ensuring minimal impact.
Albudaiwi also touched upon the objectives of his official visit to the EU and the briefing he is scheduled to deliver to the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), in addition to his meetings with several EU officials to explore ways to bolstering Gulf-European relations.
The Secretary General and the Ambassadors discussed several topics related to bilateral relations between the GCC and the EU.
