GCC and Portugal Sign MoU to Enhance Cooperation

Manama:United Nations: Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Paulo Rangel, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding cooperation between the two entities.According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. This agreement reflects the GCC's commitment to expanding its relationships with countries and international organizations globally.The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation that strengthens bilateral ties and identifies areas of mutual interest for the GCC and Portugal. In addition to signing the agreement, representatives from both sides held a bilateral meeting to discuss the prospects for enhanced cooperation and the mechanisms needed to achieve their mutual objectives.The discussions also covered regional developments, with a focus on maritime navigation in the Straits of Hormuz and Bab Al M andab, and their importance to regional and international security and stability.
