Manama: Sabeeka Khalifa Al Fadalah, a member of the Shura Council and the Advisory Board of the GCC Supreme Council, highlighted the significance of Bahrain hosting the 46th GCC Summit. She stated that this event underscores Bahrain's leading role, under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in bolstering joint Gulf cooperation. The summit is seen as a crucial step toward unifying positions and enhancing collective action amid rapidly evolving regional and global challenges.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Fadalah emphasized that the summit, the eighth hosted by Bahrain, reflects the commitment of GCC leaders to advancing comprehensive Gulf integration. This includes building unified systems across political, economic, legislative, and security fields to support greater stability, development, and prosperity for Gulf citizens.
She further elaborated that the summit's agenda addresses key issues that require greater regional coordination. These include food and water security, crisis and disaster management, environmental protection, innovation, sustainable development, technology, and artificial intelligence.
Al Fadalah noted that the GCC has demonstrated the effectiveness of unified efforts in enhancing readiness and response capabilities through modernized legislation and upgraded national and regional systems. She also pointed out that the Advisory Board, on which she serves, continuously develops studies and proposals to support summit decisions in areas such as health, the shared Gulf economy, unified environmental legislation and energy transitions, food and water security, human rights, disaster-response policies, artificial intelligence, youth and women empowerment, and enhanced inter-parliamentary cooperation.
She concluded by saying that hosting this summit aligns with the GCC's vision to reinforce solidarity and advance practical solutions that support security, stability, and development across member states.
