Sepang:The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix is poised to commence this Friday at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, marking the start of a thrilling three-day racing and entertainment spectacle.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event at this iconic motorsport venue will feature a host of activities, drawing global attention. Gates will be open at 8:30 am on Friday and Saturday, and at 10:00 am on Sunday. The on-track action begins with two 60-minute practice sessions on Friday, set for 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm local time. Saturday will see another practice session at 12:30 pm, followed by qualifying at 4:00 pm to decide the starting lineup for Sunday's 56-lap Grand Prix at 3:00 pm.
Attendees are advised to plan their trips early, ensuring they have valid event tickets and pre-purchased parking passes due to limited availability. Public shuttle buses offer an alternative, running from various locations, including Mitsui Outlet Park and Kuala Lumpur International Airport, from 7:00 am to midnight over the race weekend. Additionally, only public taxis, Grab taxis, and KLIA premier limousine services can drop passengers off at designated areas.
The event also includes the Formula Malaysia Cup, an entry-level championship showcasing future motorsport stars. It features practice sessions on Friday, with qualifying on Saturday morning. Two 27-lap races will take place, one on Saturday afternoon and the other on Sunday morning.
Beyond racing, the Grand Prix promises extensive family entertainment at the fanzone, with concerts and cultural activities spotlighting Bahrain's heritage. Notable performances include DJ Axwell on Saturday and Martin Garrix on Sunday, exclusively for race ticket holders. The event concludes each day with the circuit gates closing at 8:30 pm on Friday and Saturday, and at 6:00 pm on Sunday.
