New York:Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Tajikistan's Foreign Minister, at Bahrain's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions focused on the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and Tajikistan, emphasizing the need to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas beneficial to both nations and their citizens.
The ministers also deliberated on regional developments, specifically addressing concerns over disruptions in navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandab. They highlighted the potential effects on international trade and the global economy, along with efforts to promote regional security, peace, and stability.
Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaie, Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and the accompanying delegation attended the meeting.
