New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Cho Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, at the Korean Mission in New York, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Korea. They emphasized the importance of further developing their areas of cooperation to serve mutual interests and objectives, especially as the two countries commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations. Additionally, they explored issues related to bilateral relations and coordination at international forums.
The meeting also addressed current regional and international developments. The ministers discussed international efforts aimed at restoring maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandab, emphasizing the importance of maintaining regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Rowai, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York; Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director-General of Bilateral Relations; Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Chief of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the accompanying delegation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
