Manama:Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, emphasized the strategic vision outlined by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during the inauguration of the fifth session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives. This vision underscores the King's dedication to reinforcing the foundations of national development and advancing Bahrain's comprehensive progress across various sectors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Finance Minister stated that the royal directives are pivotal in propelling government initiatives forward and intensifying efforts to serve the nation's interests and fulfill citizens' aspirations.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa praised His Majesty the King for acknowledging the government's efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in enhancing the quality of government services, particularly in economic affairs, and advancing national development goals. The Minister also recognized the King's appreciation of the security and military forces' role in protecting Bahrain's security and achievements amidst challenges such as Iranian attacks.
The Minister welcomed HM the King's declaration of June 1 as the "Day of Pledge and Loyalty" and the designation of 2027 as the "Year of Isa bin Salman." He affirmed that these national occasions offer an opportunity to draw inspiration from values of dedication and service, while reinforcing loyalty and national belonging.
He further noted that the future phase involves building on current progress by translating royal directives into strategic initiatives and effective policies, aiming to create a comprehensive national framework linking the economy with society and development with sustainability. This framework is set to enhance the national economy's competitiveness, stimulate sustainable growth, and expand opportunities for citizen participation in development.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa stressed the importance of institutional cooperation between executive and legislative authorities as crucial for integrating efforts towards national priorities. He reiterated the need for shared responsibility and continued cooperation to accelerate progress and deliver achievements that align with Bahrain's ambitions and its people's aspirations.
The Finance Minister also highlighted the significance of supporting sustainability in energy and strengthening food and water security by modernizing legislation and enhancing competitiveness.
