Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, received Ambassador Khalil Ibrahim Al Thawadi, the outgoing Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Head of the Arab Affairs and National Security Sector at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah expressed pride in the contributions and dedication of Bahraini citizens, both domestically and internationally, across various fields of national service. He emphasized that these efforts bolster Bahrain's standing and enhance its active presence on regional and international stages, aligning with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Deputy Prime Minister underscored that the national trajectory, shaped by Bahrainis in diverse areas of responsibility, represents a growing legacy of dedication and experience. He advocated for building upon past achievements and promoting the exchange of expertise between generations to further improve the quality and effectiveness of national efforts.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah praised Ambassador Al Thawadi's extensive contributions over the past decades, which encompass his role in developing Bahrain Radio and Television, advancing cultural work, preserving national heritage during his leadership of the Culture and Heritage Sector, his membership in the Shura Council, and his distinguished diplomatic service representing Bahrain in the Arab Republic of Egypt and at the League of Arab States.
Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister commended Ambassador Al Thawadi for enriching local journalism through his opinion articles, which reflect his intellectual and patriotic perspectives, and lauded his balanced and thoughtful media discourse that embodies the depth of his professional experience.
Ambassador Al Thawadi presented Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah with a copy of his book, which compiles a series of articles he has written and published in local newspapers over recent years. The ambassador expressed gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for his continuous support and encouragement for Bahraini citizens to contribute to the service and advancement of their nation.
