Cyprus President Visits Bahrain Economic Development Board for Economic Cooperation Talks

Manama: As part of an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Nikos Christodoulides, President of the Republic of Cyprus, visited the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB).

According to Bahrain News Agency, HE President Christodoulides was received at the Board's headquarters in Bahrain Bay by several key Bahraini officials, including Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister; Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy; Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB; Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain; and Sameer Abdullah Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah welcomed HE the Azerbaijani President and the accompanying delegation, noting that the visit marks an important step in strengthening relations between the two countries and aims to enhance close cooperation. He added that this reflects the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing mutual interests.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that the visit to Bahrain EDB reflects a shared interest in further developing a strong economic partnership and raising investment coordination to more aspirational levels. He emphasized the two countries' common vision to expand trade cooperation in line with global economic developments.

He expressed hope that the visit would help identify new investment opportunities, increase trade, and encourage capital flows between the two sides, supporting sustainable growth. He also noted the importance of the Bahrain-Cyprus Business Forum, which brings together chambers of commerce and the private sector from both countries.

The visit concluded with a presentation by the Finance Minister outlining Bahrain's competitive investment environment, available opportunities, major development projects, and the role of the Board in attracting direct investment to priority sectors, supporting investors, and advancing economic diversification.
