Chief of Staff Visits GCC Unified Maritime Operations Centre

Manama: Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff, visited the Gulf Cooperation Council Unified Maritime Operations Centre.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chief of Staff received a briefing on the centre's work, responsibilities, and current operations. He reviewed how the centre, operating under the GCC Unified Military Command, monitors maritime activity across the region, coordinates cooperation between GCC naval forces, assesses potential threats, and develops operational plans to address them. The centre employs advanced naval systems and collaborates closely with the navies of GCC member states and partner countries to safeguard shipping routes and sea lanes.

He stated that the centre exemplifies the strong cooperation between GCC member states and its pivotal role in enhancing military coordination and integration between their naval forces. He added that it supports the security of maritime navigation and regional stability by improving joint coordination and enhancing maritime defence readiness.

The Chief of Staff praised the centre's work and the GCC naval personnel serving there for their professionalism and efficiency in addressing maritime risks and challenges in the Arabian Gulf.
