Manama: Bahrain Refrigeration Electromechanical Equipment Technology (BRET) has announced the establishment of a $98.4 million factory dedicated to commercial refrigeration products at the Bahrain International Investment Park. The announcement was made at the Gateway Gulf 2025 Forum, highlighting Bahrain's emerging status as a regional hub for advanced manufacturing.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this new facility represents a significant Chinese investment in Bahrain and is set to become a key production center for high-performance, energy-efficient refrigeration systems tailored to meet the climate and commercial needs of Gulf markets.
Cao Junfeng, General Manager of BRET, expressed that the establishment of the factory in Bahrain is a crucial step in expanding their business across the Middle East and globally. He emphasized that Bahrain offers a strategic location, modern infrastructure, and a supportive business environment that aligns with their long-term vision for global growth. Through BRET, the company aims to deliver advanced, energy-efficient refrigeration solutions in the region while supporting Bahrain's industrial and environmental sustainability objectives.
Ali Al Mudaifa, Chief of Business Development at the Bahrain Economic Development Board, welcomed BRET to Bahrain's expanding industrial sector. He stated that this investment underscores the Kingdom's status as a preferred destination for high-tech, value-added industries and highlights the robust partnership between Bahrain and leading international manufacturers. BRET's presence is expected to enhance regional industrial capabilities and foster innovation in manufacturing.
The factory will boast a production capacity of up to 300 units per day, manufacturing a broad range of commercial refrigerators, display freezers, and related equipment. By leveraging advanced research, development, and design capabilities, the company aims to provide sustainable cooling solutions for the retail, hospitality, healthcare, and food service sectors across the Middle East.
