BOC Secretary-General Meets US President’s Special Envoy for Global Partnerships

Manama: Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), welcomed Ambassador Paolo Zampolli, Special Envoy of President Donald Trump for Global Partnerships of the United States. The meeting was held during the International Fencing Conference, an event hosted by the Kingdom and organised by the BOC along with the Bahrain Fencing Federation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Kooheji extended the greetings of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who holds multiple positions including First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the BOC.

The discussion focused on exploring avenues for cooperation and ways to strengthen bilateral relations. Al Kooheji emphasized that the relationship between Bahrain and the US serves as a model of strategic partnership and sports diplomacy. He remarked on the role of sports as a means of fostering communication between nations and as a platform for new opportunities in training, development, and knowledge exchange.

Ambassador Zampolli acknowledged the advancements in Bahraini sports and the notable achievements across various disciplines. He praised the BOC's efforts in supporting athletes and promoting the Olympic movement. He also expressed his interest in exploring future collaborations under the "Global Partnerships" initiative.

Both parties exchanged commemorative gifts and reiterated their commitment to continuing joint efforts that benefit the sports sector in both countries, enhancing Bahrain's status as a regional and international sports hub.
