Manama: The Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) convened for its fourth meeting of the year, under the leadership of Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi. The meeting saw the attendance of board members and Executive Director Eman Faisal Janahi.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the board extended their congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in celebration of Bahrain’s National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty’s Accession.
The meeting agenda included a review of the institute’s achievements throughout the year, emphasizing its role in fostering national awareness, political culture, and training national cadres within the public and private sectors as well as civil society.
The board received an update on the preparations for the upcoming parliamentary and municipal elections. They expressed satisfaction with the progress of the ‘Darrib’ national elections programme, highlighting the active participation from prospective candidates and campaign managers. The programme is now in its third edition.
Additionally, the board stressed the importance of sustaining efforts to enhance political participation and support for national development. They also reviewed planned activities related to the legislative authority, the Capital Municipality, municipal councils, and community groups.
