Manama: The Honourable E. David Burt, JP, MP, Premier of Bermuda, visited the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) as part of his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Premier was welcomed by Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB, and Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, as well as Bermuda’s Special Representative – Middle East, alongside senior officials from the investment promotion agency’s management team.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Alkhulaif reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to fostering international partnerships, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. She highlighted the Kingdom’s competitive advantages, including its strategic location and agile regulatory framework, which have reinforced Bahrain’s position as a gateway for investment in the region.
The Premier of Bermuda highlighted the strong similarities between Bahrain and Bermuda as agile, forward-looking island economies. He showcased Bermuda’s strengths in financial services, particularly in insurance and reinsurance, and emphasized the complementarity with Bahrain’s position as a regional financial hub. He also reiterated the opportunity for deepening collaboration with the Kingdom, highlighting potential areas for cooperation.
