Bahrain’s UN Representative Leads GCC-EU Ambassadors’ Coordination Meeting in Vienna

Vienna: Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva and Vienna, chaired a coordination meeting between the ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the European Union in Vienna. The meeting was attended by the ambassadors of the GCC member states, the Head of the European Union Delegation to Vienna, and a representative of the Republic of Cyprus, which currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, at the GCC Permanent Mission in Vienna.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and coordination between the GCC and the EU within international organizations based in Vienna. The discussions aimed to support the strategic partnership and multilateral cooperation between the two regions.

Participants in the meeting addressed several mutual interests, including regional security, the protection of critical infrastructure, and the implications of recent Iranian attacks on energy security, global trade, and maritime security. The ambassadors emphasized the need for continued dialogue and consultation to enhance coordination within international organizations.

The meeting concluded with a consensus on identifying priorities for future cooperation to further solidify the GCC-EU strategic partnership. Participants expressed commitment to supporting joint efforts in addressing regional and international challenges.
