Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division Engages in IPU Seminar on Health Misinformation

Manama: Bahrain's parliamentary division delegation participated in a remote seminar titled "Navigating health misinformation in the age of AI", organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the parliamentary group was represented by Mamdooh Al Saleh, Chairperson of the Services Committee at the Council of Representatives. This participation highlights the Council's role in promoting dialogue, supporting health policies, and ensuring citizen access to accurate health information and services.

The seminar focused on examining the impact of health misinformation, particularly on women and children, and the role of artificial intelligence in these issues. It aimed to explore technology use to build trust in accurate information, protect health rights, and ensure individuals can access reliable information for their well-being.

The event gathered parliamentarians and experts, serving as a platform to exchange expertise and practices in countering health misinformation and fostering cooperation among parliaments. This contributes to improved health awareness and equitable access to health services.
