Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division Addresses 151st IPU Assembly in Geneva

Geneva: The Kingdom of Bahrain's parliamentary division took part in the 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), where Hala Ramzi Fayez, a member of the Shura Council, delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of accountability, transparency, and responsibility in parliamentary activities.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain's parliamentary division underscored that the Kingdom's forthcoming membership in the United Nations Security Council for the term 2026-2027 is an obligation to further UN reform and strengthen multilateralism as a foundation for global peace and security. The division stated that Bahrain's strategy will focus on dialogue, coexistence, mutual respect, and consensus-building to foster fair and equitable solutions for all countries.

The division also conveyed that the Kingdom's vision, guided by the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, advocates for the reform of international institutions, particularly the Security Council, to enhance their representativeness, effectiveness, and responsiveness to global challenges.
