Doha:Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Municipal Affairs Undersecretary at Bahrain's Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture, took part in the sixth edition of the Recycling and Sustainability Conference and Exhibition 2026. This event was organized by Qatar's Ministry of Municipality in Doha and saw participation from officials, experts, specialists, government entities, and private-sector representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed emphasized the strong fraternal ties between Bahrain and Qatar. He highlighted the need to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise, particularly in areas such as municipal affairs, sustainability, waste management, recycling, and the application of circular economy principles.
He stressed the importance of staying updated with the latest practices, innovative solutions, and technologies in recycling and sustainable waste management. These advancements are crucial for improving resource efficiency and environmental sustainability. Shaikh Mohammed also pointed out the role of the circular economy in reducing waste while transforming it into economic and environmental value. He highlighted the significance of public-private partnerships and innovation in developing integrated and sustainable waste management systems.
Shaikh Mohammed praised Qatar's organization of the conference, noting that it serves as a platform for dialogue and the exchange of knowledge and expertise on sustainability and the circular economy.
The conference spanned two days and included specialized sessions, workshops, and an exhibition. These elements showcased the latest solutions and practices in recycling, integrated waste management, sustainability, and the circular economy, while also highlighting opportunities to promote innovation, investment, and partnerships.
