Bahraini Parliamentary Delegation Engages EU in Cooperative Efforts

Brussels: A Bahraini parliamentary delegation led by Hassan Eid BuKhammas, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee, concluded the fifth parliamentary meeting between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union in Brussels. Discussions centred on parliamentary cooperation, security issues, and economic partnership.

According to Bahrain News Agency, BuKhammas stated that the two sides explored enhancing parliamentary cooperation through establishing a structured dialogue framework. This framework is aimed at supporting regular follow-up, broadening legislative exchange, and strengthening parliamentary diplomacy.

BuKhammas emphasized shared regional and international security challenges, underscoring the importance of cooperation in cyber security and artificial intelligence. He highlighted Bahrain's role as a partner in promoting regional and global stability and noted the significance of the Manama Dialogue as a platform for addressing security issues.

The meeting also delved into economic cooperation opportunities, including trade, investment, renewable energy, green hydrogen, sustainable development, the digital economy, food security, and visa-related matters. BuKhammas expressed Bahrain's eagerness to expand partnerships with EU member states, especially in green technology and value-added economic initiatives.

The delegation comprised MPs Dr. Hisham Ahmed Al Asheeri, Maryam Saleh Al Dhaen, Dr. Ali Majid Al Nuaimi, and Hassan Ibrahim Hassan.
