Manama: The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has granted the Kingdom of Bahrain the privilege to host two 3x3 basketball qualifying tournaments, Quest and Lite Quest, showcasing the Kingdom's growing reputation in the sport and increasing international confidence in its capacity to organize significant sporting events.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain will host the open Lite Quest tournament on July 28, serving as a qualifier for the Challenger event scheduled to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, on September 19-20. Additionally, the Kingdom will host the open Quest tournament on July 30, which will qualify teams for the Masters event in Debrecen, Hungary, on August 29-30.
Hassan Yaseen, Board Member of the Bahrain Basketball Association and Chairman of the Competitions Committee, stated that the opportunity to host the qualifiers is a new achievement for Bahraini basketball and reflects FIBA's confidence in the Kingdom's organizational capabilities and advanced sports infrastructure.
He emphasized that hosting the tournaments builds on Bahrain's prior success in organizing 3x3 basketball competitions and events. Yaseen noted that the Kingdom has become a leading regional destination for this rapidly growing sport.
Yaseen further mentioned that the Bahrain Basketball Association remains committed to developing 3x3 basketball by hosting high-quality tournaments. This commitment provides teams and players with opportunities to compete at advanced levels, contributing to the enhancement of technical standards and strengthening Bahrain's presence in international competitions.
He assured that the association will provide all necessary requirements to ensure the success of the tournaments, demonstrating Bahrain's ability to host world-class sporting events to the highest professional standards.
