Bahrain Secures Key Committee Membership at OIC Conference in Baku

Baku: Bahrain actively participated in the Arab Group consultative meeting held in Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of the 20th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States. The meeting was chaired by Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, who leads the Bahrain Parliamentary Division delegation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom emphasized the significance of enhancing coordination and consultation among Arab parliaments. The aim is to unify positions on issues listed on the union's agenda and to strengthen Arab representation across its bodies and committees. During the meeting, Bahrain secured membership in the Committee on Cultural and Legal Affairs and Dialogue of Civilisations and Religions.

The participants also discussed the election of the President of the 21st Conference of the Union and its host country. Additionally, the meeting covered the nomination of four representatives from the Arab Group to the Union's Executive Committee and made arrangements for the committee's upcoming meeting.
