Bahrain Leads GCC Civil Defence Meeting in Riyadh

Riyadh: Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, chaired the 35th meeting of the GCC Civil Defence Directors-General in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting focused on enhancing coordination in civil protection and public safety, alongside developing emergency plans among GCC states, following the directives of the GCC Ministers of Interior.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed the work of specialised technical teams and explored ways to further develop their capabilities. Brigadier Al Kubaisi stressed the need for ongoing collaboration among civil defence authorities within the GCC to safeguard lives and property, especially considering the current regional situation.

The meeting also addressed recent updates regarding the Higher Institute for Civil Defence in Bahrain, the GCC Unified Response and Rescue Team, and the operations of the GCC Emergency Management Centre. Additionally, discussions were held on improving cooperation in training, organising joint courses, and sharing expertise among civil defence authorities in the region.
