Manama: The Bahrain national handball team initiated its campaign at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan with a commanding 43-20 victory over Kazakhstan in Group B. The match was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and head of the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain led 20-8 at half-time and continued to dominate in the second half, securing its first two points of the tournament. Salman Al Showaikh emerged as the top scorer, with nine goals from 11 attempts, showcasing efficiency and skill on the court.
Bahrain is set to face Iran in its second Group B match at 2:30 pm Japan time. The team aims to advance to the knockout stages and contend for its first Asian Games gold medal.
