Bahrain Denounces Terrorist Attacks on Saudi Arabian Airports

Manama:The Kingdom of Bahrain has expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist attacks on Saudi Arabia's Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport, which occurred on October 6 and 7, 2026. These attacks led to civilian casualties, injuries among both citizens and residents, and caused material damage.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement highlighting that targeting airports and civilian infrastructure, thereby endangering the lives of innocent travellers and airport personnel, is a grave crime. The Ministry termed these acts as a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law and described them as a dangerous escalation threatening civil aviation and regional security.

Bahrain reaffirmed its stance that Saudi Arabia's security is integral to its own national security and the stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The Kingdom expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supported all measures taken by it to protect its sovereignty, citizens, and residents.

The Ministry also extended condolences to Saudi Arabia, as well as to Morocco, Algeria, and Sudan, and the families of the victims. Additionally, it wished a swift recovery to those injured in the attacks.
