Jakarta:The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned two terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia, which targeted King Khalid International Airport and a Saudi Airlines aircraft in Saudi Arabia. The attacks resulted in the deaths of three Saudi citizens and injuries to several others.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs described these attacks as a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter. They have been deemed a dangerous escalation threatening regional security, stability, and the safety of civil aviation, in line with the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.
The Ministry reaffirmed Bahrain's full support for Saudi Arabia, pledging solidarity with the Kingdom in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity. It also emphasized Saudi Arabia's right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended sincere condolences to Saudi Arabia and the families of the deceased, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. The Ministry urged the United Nations Security Council to take a definitive stance against the recurring Houthi attacks on civilian facilities, to hold perpetrators accountable, and to ensure the full implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolutions 2216 and 2817, to protect civilians and maintain regional and international security and peace.
