Bahrain:Sheikh Ali bin Mohamed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Relations at the Ministry of Labour, led the third meeting of the Executive Committee for Occupational Safety and Health for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States. This meeting took place alongside the sixth National Occupational Safety and Health Conference, hosted by Bahrain from September 22 to 23, 2026.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by Mohammed bin Hassan Al Obaidi, Director General of the Executive Bureau for the GCC Ministers of Labour and Social Affairs, along with officials and specialists in occupational safety and health from GCC member states.
The committee discussed several topics, including initiatives to enhance cooperation in occupational safety and health, a proposed GCC framework, and a unified initiative for capacity building and regulating the profession. An initiative aimed at protecting workers from heat stress was also addressed, highlighting efforts to improve preventive and safety measures in the workplace.
The discussions underscored the importance of continued coordination and cooperation, as well as the exchange of expertise and best practices among GCC countries, to contribute to a safer working environment and stronger protection for workers.
