Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition Opens Applications for 53rd Edition

Hanoi:The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities has announced that artists can now apply to participate in the 53rd Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition. The event, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues its tradition since 1972 of providing artists a platform to showcase contemporary artistic practices.

According to Bahrain News Agency, this year's exhibition will revolve around the theme "In Circulation," which encourages artists to explore various forms of circulation within human and visual discourse. The theme aims to connect creativity and innovation across artistic practices by examining the movement and transformation of objects, images, ideas, and cultural identities in different contexts.

Al Riwaq Art Space, in partnership with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, will curate the exhibition. Their collaboration seeks to foster innovation in the use of different media and support the growth of Bahrain's local art scene. The theme "In Circulation" also invites participants to delve into the processes of translation, reproduction, exchange, and reinterpretation, and how these processes influence artistic and cultural narratives.

Artists interested in participating are encouraged to review the submission requirements and procedures on the Authority's official website and submit their applications by 15 November 2026.
