Arusha:MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom of Bahrain, who represents the country while holding the presidency of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), met with Jaharat Adib Chowdhury, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, during the 153rd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the two nations and included a proposal to transform the APA into the Asian Parliamentary Union to enhance parliamentary work and diplomacy.
The meeting also addressed the process of opening nominations for the new APA Secretary-General, as the term of the current Secretary-General is coming to an end.
