Bahrain Ambassador Receives Honorary Doctorate from Swiss University

Lugano: Ahmed Ibrahim Al Qurainees, Bahrain's Ambassador to Germany, was honored with an honorary doctorate by Franklin University Switzerland. This accolade recognizes his professional contributions to the Kingdom of Bahrain and acknowledges his status as a distinguished alumnus from the university's Class of 2007. The honor was presented during the university's 2026 undergraduate commencement ceremony, which took place at the Lugano Arte e Cultura Center in Lugano, Switzerland. The event was attended by David Mills, the President of the University, and Paul Lowerre, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and a member of the Class of 1977.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Al Qurainees, as the ceremony's guest of honor, delivered a commencement address. He shared insights from his professional journey and extended his congratulations to the graduates, wishing them success in their future endeavors. Franklin University Switzerland, founded in 1969, stands out as a prominent academic institution in Switzerland and holds the unique status of being the only university in the country accredited in the United States.
