Bahrain 3×3 Basketball Team Ready for Asian Youth Games


Manama: The Bahrain national 3×3 basketball team has completed its final preparations for the 3rd Asian Youth Games, aiming to achieve a historic result for the Kingdom. The team includes Yousif Yaqoob Meshaei, Hassan Abdulqader, Somto Patrick, and Sergei Sekic, led by Serbian coach Bogdan and assistant coach Murtadha Mohammed, under a technical plan designed to ensure a strong performance at the Games.



According to Bahrain News Agency, assistant coach Murtadha Mohammed stated that the team has reached full readiness following an intensive month-long preparation programme that began after the Asian Championship in Mongolia. He noted that the technical staff selected the most capable players to represent the Kingdom. He added that the team aims to achieve a historic result for Bahrain in 3×3 basketball, reflecting the sport’s steady growth and the players’ determination to perform at their best.



He further mentioned that the Bahrain Basketball Association provided full technical and administrative support, including a local training camp and several friendly matches to build team cohesion and improve overall performance. The team continues its final phase of preparation through friendly games against Germany’s Skyliners team, which is holding a training camp in Bahrain. Murtadha said these matches serve as the final test before the official competitions and will help ensure the team’s readiness.



He expressed confidence in the players’ abilities and determination to represent Bahrain honourably, hoping the Games will mark a new milestone for 3×3 basketball in the Kingdom and open the door to future continental success.
