BACA President: “Year of Isa Al Kabeer” Revives Pivotal Era in Bahrain’s History

Manama: Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, commended the Royal Order issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, designating this year as the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer." This decision celebrates the founder of the modern state and the leader of the modern institutional development in the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the designation commemorates His Highness' legacy, recalling his national role and recognizing the stability, establishment of legal and civil institutions, and prosperity during his reign. Shaikh Khalifa affirmed that naming this year the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer" reflects a national appreciation for a historical figure who had a lasting impact on governance and state affairs. He noted that Isa Al Kabeer's era was marked by wisdom and foresight, representing a turning point in building the modern state and contributing to political and social stability.

The President explained that recalling this historical period reflects Bahrain's commitment to preserving its national memory and highlighting figures who contributed to the Kingdom's identity. He affirmed that commemorating these milestones enhances societal awareness of Bahrain's history and helps connect generations with their cultural heritage.

He noted that the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities emphasizes highlighting this era through cultural and awareness programs that shed light on Isa Al Kabeer's achievements. These efforts aim to document his role in building the state, reinforcing pride in national identity, and establishing historical culture as a pillar of sustainable development.
