Jakarta:Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam congratulated Milton Dick on his recent election as President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) for the 2026-2029 term. Al Musallam, who is the Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, extended his best wishes to Dick.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam praised Dick's extensive parliamentary experience and significant contributions. He expressed confidence that Dick would successfully fulfill his responsibilities in leading the IPU.
Al Musallam highlighted that the upcoming phase for the Union will demand increased efforts, enhanced cooperation, and stronger integration. He emphasized the importance of closer consultation and coordination, as well as the need for a proactive role in parliamentary diplomacy to further international peace and security and to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
