Cairo: Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Buainain, Attorney General, actively participated in the sixth meeting of the Arab Association for Prosecutors, convened in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The gathering addressed crucial agenda points, such as the accession of the Republic of Djibouti and the Union of the Comoros to the association, alongside strategies for enhancing the association's activities and fostering collaboration among Public Prosecution offices across Arab nations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting emphasized the significance of exchanging judicial expertise and practices, developing approaches to combat emerging and cross-border crimes, and advancing training programs for Public Prosecution members. Dr. Al Buainain stressed the need for the Arab Public Prosecution Chiefs Association to serve as a robust framework for cooperation and coordination, thereby boosting the criminal justice system's efficiency.
Dr. Al Buainain underscored the necessity of expanding training and capacity-building initiatives for Public Prosecution members. He advocated for leveraging partnerships with regional and international judicial bodies, such as the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), to facilitate training and the exchange of studies, research, and legal publications. This collaboration aims to equip Public Prosecution members to keep pace with rapid technological changes and conduct investigations that adhere to procedural legality and criminal justice standards.
The meeting also celebrated Counsellor Hamad Shaheen Al Buainain, Chief Prosecutor, who was honored with the Outstanding Public Prosecution Members Award. This accolade recognized his professional excellence and dedication to the mission of the Public Prosecution within the Arab Association for Prosecutors member states.
On the second day, a seminar focused on Artificial Intelligence in Public Prosecution Work. Ahmed Abdullah Al Ramadan, Chief Prosecutor, delivered a presentation titled "The Kingdom of Bahrain's Experience in Addressing Emerging Crimes." He discussed the Public Prosecution's initiatives to tackle modern criminal patterns, challenges related to digital evidence, and the measures taken to enhance the capabilities of Public Prosecution members in conducting effective investigations into such crimes.
